Parenting While a Student
School is already a bit stressful; add an unplanned pregnancy into the mix, and it’s overwhelming. Though it’s difficult, many women still stay in high school and even college while continuing a pregnancy. It’s not impossible.
A federal law called Title IX prohibits discrimination in education based on pregnancy and parental status. No matter your pregnancy choice, you are allowed to stay in school. The school is also required by law to make accommodations so that you can continue your education.
Education is an essential investment in yourself and your future. Take advantage of the changes the school will make on your behalf. We always encourage women to stay in school if possible.
