Parenting Resources & Support
Parenting is a big step—and you don’t have to take it alone.
Through Gabriel Outreach, we offer a community of care to walk with you during your pregnancy and beyond.
Our free and confidential services include:
- A Gabriel Angel mentor to encourage you, listen to you, and walk beside you through every stage of your journey
- Parenting and life skills classes through our GEMS program, offering education, community, and guidance for pregnant and parenting moms. Upon completing the program, mothers receive a scholarship to further their education.
- Material assistance, like baby items, clothing, and supplies, to help you prepare for your child
- Financial support to help meet essential needs during this season of life
- Community referrals to connect you with additional resources
Parenting While a Student
School is already a bit stressful; add an unexpected pregnancy into the mix, and it can be overwhelming. However, many women still stay in high school and even college while continuing a pregnancy. It’s not impossible.
A federal law called Title IX prohibits discrimination in education based on pregnancy and parental status. No matter your pregnancy choice, you are allowed to stay in school. The school is also required by law to make accommodations so that you can continue your education.
Education is an essential investment in yourself and your future. Take advantage of the changes the school will make on your behalf. We always encourage women to stay in school if possible and provide scholarship opportunities for you to further your educational goals.
